Dappled sunlight beneath a monochrome ascent

A quiet view at the bottom of a valley, found at Devil’s Lake State Park of Baraboo, WI. I found this scene far distant from the main park area, and doubt I would’ve even noticed the gentle rise if the valley was similarly overcrowded. Each leaf marked a secretive path that was inviting and open to interpretation. A path that would’ve been swept away by countless trampling feet anywhere else in the park.

I wanted to follow the markings and see what lay above, but took this and left. I had no right to disturb the path, but every reason to let it shine for others.
