Taken in the Badger Army Ammunition Plant of North Freedom, WI during the same outing as Our Dark Shelter and Mockery.
Being one of the first stops I made in the area, this desolate scene hinted at the vanishing signs of humanity that were to come. Not far from here, prairie stretched in all directions, broken only by abandoned roads that were hidden to all but the closest approach. The missing structures of old were left to the imagination – like here, many outlets to factories, barracks, and homes were now dead ends, and denied any passage that wasn’t on foot.
